A Necessary Change

It’s imperative to stop clinging to the crudest egoic instincts to realize that the intimate nature of each one is the same Primordial Nature of LIFE from which we are inseparable.

Anyone, with a minimum of discernment and sensitivity, will agree that the evolution of humanity urgently needs a change of course. Despite the great scientific advances –mostly technological–, it’s evident that the human being is far from the fullness that corresponds to him by nature. Far from living the peace and harmony inherent in the Nature of LIFE.

Undoubtedly, the progressive development of the rational mind meant an evolutionary leap that has characterized and made possible the survival of the human species. But at the same time, the increasing pre-eminence of this rational mind to the detriment of the other constituents of the human, has led us to the paranoid dual feeling of being differentiated from LIFE.

Once it was “expelled from Oneness paradise”, the human being has always felt vulnerable, in an environment that it’s hostile for him, full of threats. And since primitive times we continue to look for answers, “explanations” that give us the feeling – false, certainly – of security, control and dominance.

For the mind, the need for explanations is so great that, when it doesn’t find them by logical and direct experience, it fills the gaps with beliefs. They are not always adopted consciously, but we more often accept them without questioning how they condition us.

The Ultra-Mundane Duality

Today, human behavior continues to be supported by an artificial, mythical and falsely magical vision, more typical of primitive times and incipient capacities of perception. A vision based on fear and feelings of inferiority and guilt, that they have been building a pernicious ultra-mundanism –dual by definition–, that with the promise of the afterlife wants to make the anxieties of this life more bearable. An ultra-mundanism that too often has only served for a few to maintain power and privileges and subjugate their fellow human beings, keeping them in ignorance and depriving them of reaching the fullness that corresponds to any human being.

Certainly, humanity has achieved high levels of light, wisdom and sensitivity. Unfortunately, they have always been restricted to small circles. The use of mythical, allegorical or symbolic language, in combination with widespread illiteracy, has been an obstacle that has deprived of light a majority that, with more peremptory priorities, has been forced to settle for the consolation offered by literal interpretations.

New Beliefs, Same Mistakes

We will deceive ourselves if we think that the mechanism of beliefs corresponds exclusively to the religious sphere and to past times already overcome. The secularism of modern society does not get offer the transcendent values we longed for, giving way to a savage consumerism. It’s the most widespread belief today: to be happy and find the meaning of life, it is enough that we worry about consuming and satisfying all desires and needs; both the most primary and those that are artificially induced. Everything is a consumer product. To the point that any internal concern will also find offers in the form of therapies, techniques, courses, coaching… for a price.

In this context, all kinds of proposals proliferate: from more or less dogmatic revisions of religions or ideologies already known, to decaffeinated practices that promise peace and well-being, or other presentations with the appearance of novelty, trying to get base by the surprising advances of science. But in general, they continue to insist on the dual way of looking, so at most they relieve, but do not release from the distressing feeling of separation.

Adapt the Look

So, should we stubbornly persevere with the same attitude to life?

Should we continue to drag the inferiority complex before divine entities, celestial worlds, or higher intelligences? Or at the opposite extreme: should we maintain the arrogance of believing that we are the pinnacle of creation and act as if everything is arranged for our enjoyment and service?

Should we carry the feeling of guilt, even if we don’t know very well what sin or negative karma we have committed?

Do we have to keep talking in terms of “the other life,” real and eternal, just because we don’t like or understand “this one”?

Shouldn’t we stop fragmenting life between matter and spirit, belittling our body by treating it as a simple transient dress –or worse, as a prison– of an individual soul or spirit?

Should we continue to believe in other people’s truths instead of discovering them for ourselves?

Will we allow humanity to be ruled by the manipulation of beliefs and the deprivation of wisdom any longer?

Insisting on the same tone that we have maintained for millennia won’t resolve the conflicts that we are dragging, individually and collectively. It is necessary to adapt the vision to the present and immediate future times.

Humans must value the wisdom and evolutionary advances that we have inherited from all those who have preceded us, but at the same time we must not make the same mistakes of the past.

To begin with, it is necessary to adapt the criteria, the language and the treatment, to make wisdom completely accessible. Without intermediaries. Recognizing access to the clear vision as an inalienable right of every human being. As or more important than the most basic rights to life, health and education. Always excluding situations of imposition or forcing. With absolute tolerance and understanding. Accepting the intimate situation of any human being, whatever it may be.

We won’t find answers “there”, no matter how much sublime we imagine it. It’s imperative to stop clinging to the crudest egoic instincts to realize that the intimate nature of each one is the same Primordial Nature of LIFE from which we are inseparable.

Humanity is experiencing uncertain, dramatic and decisive moments. But at the same time it has more elements of criteria and is in a better position to discover itself as Presence in LIFE and reorient the course to live in harmony and fullness.

The challenge is great. And certainly, after millennia of darkness, change won’t be from today to tomorrow. Although this doesn’t have to discourage us. Before reaching its zenith, the first rays of the sun start to shin on dawn. So let’s hurry to shinning. Becoming testimonies of light for future generations that will follow us.

What better legacy!
