I start the ascent.
The fog is so thick
that it deprives me of seeing the peak
and I barely see the way.
I am assailed by doubts and fears,
but with all due respect to the mountain,
an inner confidence
pushes me to continue.
Suddenly,
the fog is at my feet
and the sun shines in a clear sky.
From the top,
I contemplate astonished the wonder:
the harmonious simultaneity
of sun and fog.
It’s time to go down.
I can’t stay on the top forever.
I plunge back into the fog.
I look where I put my feet.
But there is no fear anymore.
The Presence of the sun is with me.
